The Indian Education System was intended to create better humans, but ended up producing robots for assembly line industries. This talk tries to identify the root cause of the same, and also tries to find solutions for the same. Vikramjit Singh Rooprai is an educator and a heritage activist, who uses History as a tool to teach modern subjects, bridging the gap between alternate and conventional teaching methodologies. The man behind the development of the techniques of Interdisciplinary Project Based Learning (iPBL), he strives to challenge the present system of education in India. Vikramjit is also responsible for setting up heritage labs and similar such clubs in schools, where students can conduct experiments inspired by their past, to better understand complex disciplines like physics, chemistry, mathematics, astronomy and political science.
