Hey everyone! 😄 I wanted to share the sound design process behind a recent cinematic re-sound I worked on of #Warframe. From recording to final mix, it took me about 6 hours to craft the entire design. Below is a breakdown of the key sound elements I created: 1. Wizz-By Sounds 🔊 I designed these by combining Glass Resonance and Firecrackers, processed through the Traveler plugin by TONSTURM Hahn & Klotzsch GbR for that high-energy, flying effect. 💥 2. Impact Sounds 🥊 For the impact hits, I recorded a variety of metal clangs and punches (using boxing gloves). These were layered and processed to give them weight and power. 🥊 3. Sub Bass 💪 To design the low-end punch, I used "Kick2" to ensure the sound hits hard, adding depth to key moments of the action. 💪 4. Portal Sound 🎹 This one was crafted using my #Moog Sub 37 synthesizer, with some post-processing effects and external libraries to create a dynamic, sci-fi portal effect. 🎛 5. Magical State Sound 💡 I recorded #rocksounds and #chimes, then reversed and enhanced them using #SpinTracer to create a mystical, otherworldly ambiance. ✨ 6. Gunshots 🔫 For the gunshot sounds, I layered up to five different sound elements—including body, kick, transient, mech, and tails—then enhanced the overall sound with my Moog Sub 37 for added sci-fi texture and character. 🔫 7. Laser Sound 📡 I captured electromagnetic sources using the #Elektrouši by LomAudio, which formed the base layer, then added deep bass design with Serum for a futuristic laser effect. 📡 8. Foley Sounds 💨 To synchronize perfectly with the cinematic action, I captured detailed foley sounds to match every movement, ensuring each sound was in harmony with the visuals. 💨 Final Mix & Personal Touch 👾 To round off the mix, I incorporated some of my personal soundbanks to add unique, signature textures that fit the tone of the game.
