I managed to return to the same place overlooking Mylor Creek this week, so I could complete the plein air landscape painting I started in oils the week before (see previous painting video for part 1). • Plein Air Painting Landscape - Mylor Creek... A couple of the fields had changed in the landscape for part 2. The farmer had visited them with the plough! It was slightly warmer than the previous painting session but the wind was still pretty strong. The light was remarkably similar at the beginning of my second session but changed dramatically when the sun came out - the joy of plein air painting! I used the same palette as for part 1 - Titanium White, Cad Yellow, Lemon Yellow, Cad Red, Magenta, Raw Sienna, Raw Umber, Violet, Ultramarine Blue, Cobalt Blue, Manganese Blue, Sap Green and Ivory Black. I also used turpentine and my homemade medium: turps, Stand oil, Damar Varnish. I enjoyed painting at this location in our part of Cornwall on the Fal River. I may change the foreground fields at a future date though, as I'm not quite happy with them after looking at the painting for a few days! It will be exhibited at Royal Cornwall Museum as part of my series of paintings 'Into the Carrick Roads, hidden Cornwall' from July - December 2022.
