Shortly after Alex graduated from high school and Peter started working two jobs, they met while working together at a small local gas station in November of 2018. They quickly became great friends and started dating in June of 2019. Since the beginning, their relationship has been filled with fun adventures like camping, hiking, and trying new activities together. They fell in love pretty early on. Alex travelled to New Zealand on a mission trip a few months into their relationship. The long-distance relationship was challenging, but it made their bond stronger. As for the proposal, Peter proposed to Alex on July 30, 2023, while he was in Military basic training. After a weekend exploring Old Montreal together, Peter popped the question on a beautiful Sunday morning, and Alex said yes! Alex and Peter believe marriage is sacred, a declaration of love to walk alongside each other for the rest of their days. They care so much for one another and share so much love that they couldn't imagine a life without one another. Not only their relationship but also their friendship is so strong and valuable to them. Quality time is huge for them. They love the outdoors and all things adventure. They love camping, hiking, rock climbing, going to the beach together, building forts, doing projects, cooking, and geeking out at their favourite TV shows and video games together. They love skiing and snowboarding together, going to the skatepark for skateboarding and roller skating, enjoying a movie together, and cozying up to a fire. When they were planning their wedding, some unique elements that they planned were a tree planting unity ceremony during the ceremony. Their ceremony was on her family's property, which was unique to them. The first few songs being played for the ceremony were played by Alex's very talented niece, Alora, on the piano. The first two songs were a beautiful rendition of songs from their favourite childhood show, Avatar: The Last Airbender, a show they used to geek out about together. They had signature cocktails for their reception inspired by their two kitties, Blossom and Kiwi. Aside from being excited for the whole day and sharing it with each other and their loved ones, they were excited to share their written vows with one another. They were also looking forward to a lot of fun elements, and seeing each other for the first time at the altar was something they couldn't wait for! The love and joy at their wedding were palpable. From the heartfelt vows to the newlyweds' beaming smiles, it was a truly magical celebration of love. Family and friends came together to share in the couple's happiness, creating cherished memories that will last a lifetime.
