Vegetable Farming in Zambia: Sowing Hybrid Carrot Seed using a Chapin Seed Planter

Carrots have been planted at Winterthorn throughout 2021. This short video shares how we planted a hybrid carrot crop on Westgate Block B using our Chapin seed planter. The option of using the seed planter was chosen to enable us to have the hybrid carrot seeds planted in a precise manner that would not require later thinning after germination and establishment. Hybrid seeds cost a lot more, and are different from the ordinary OPV seeds. This is the first in a new format of videos we call Quick Ones, which as the name suggests, are short and sweet.
