Hi guys! In this video I’m taking you on a small journey of plein air drawing, painting & construction going on in and around my apartment. In august of last year, I started drawing a tree plein air with a ballpoint pen, then I worked on the piece at home some more with watercolour paint, but then I had to stop because of work being done in my apartment block in November, lasting well into the new year. (Some interesting footage ahead!) At the beginning of this year I picked the piece back up to finish it, and it actually became a bit of a favourite of mine. I hope you’ll enjoy coming along with me during these 'eventful times' within the home. If so, thanks in advance for watching as always!! As to why there is only a spoken introduction and a spoken outro for this video, and why the rest is embedded subtitles, I can explain. I’ve mentioned before in a video that I’ve had some serious medical issues in the past, that resulted in a mild speech impediment. I’m fine now otherwise, but this does make doing decent voice-overs, and editing them, quite a lengthy process for me. And on top of that, I am striking out on my own and I’m giving myself a year to make a success of being self-employed, which is already taking up quite a chunk of my time. So, this year I have to be very conscious and wise with what I spent my active work hours on (also because of my hand troubles editing-wise). Voice-over editing will simply have to fall by the wayside, although I do still very much plan on doing YouTube, more regularly in fact, if I can manage it. We’ll see how it goes this year. Having said all of that, I do like to welcome people to my videos personally, and saying goodbye, hence the intro and outro. And all the subtitles have been added to closed captions as well (CC-option on!), so auto translate can do the rest for non-English speaking people. This will probably be the format for the coming year and I hope that’s okay. Practical information: The materials used are a Lamy ballpoint pen, several brands of watercolour paint like Schminke Horadam and Rembrandt, and Fabriano Artistico hot press watercolour paper white, 300 gsm.
