17 Spitfire 'Balbo' Flypast Finale - Duxford Battle of Britain Airshow 2019

The Finale to the first day of Duxford's 'Battle off Britain Airshow 2019', was this superb massed formation 'balbo' of 15 Spitfires. It was to have been 16, but unfortunately one of the Spitfires, D-FEUR, had a prop strike with the ground while powering up for take off. Prior to the formation flypast a lone Spitfire, the Imperial War Museums Mk.1a N3200, did a solo display - known as 'The Joker', with John Romain at the controls. Following the flypast, Old Flying Machine Company's Spitfire MH434, flown by Brian Smith, did a superb solo display in honour and memory of Ray and Mark Hanna (you can see this display by clicking on the link on screen at the very end of this film).
