The Future of Indian Seafarers is very bright; Our Intellect, our educational levels, our basic skill is definitely note-worthy, and it is recognised world over : Mr. Maneesh Pradhan Anglo Eastern Group has won hearts and respect of the maritime industry. They have been arranging crew change in the most challenging environment. We invited Mr. Maneesh Pradhan, Managing Director, Anglo Eastern Ship Management (I) Pvt Ltd. on our show. We asked him what many stakeholders of the industry would like to know from him eg, Challenges faced in arranging crew change due to COVID-19, maintaining mental health of seafarers and shore staff, competitiveness of Indian Seafarers in the international market and job opportunities for them. Mr. Maneesh Pradhan, Managing Director of Anglo- Eastern Ship Management (India) Pvt Ltd, is part of the largest crewing operation from India. He has 25 years of experience in Shipping which includes his 10 year tenure at sea and 15 years ashore. Mr. Maneesh Pradhan is a Marine Engineer and an Alumni of Directorate of Marine Engineering and Training, Kolkata. He joined Anglo Eastern Ship Management, Hong Kong, as Junior Engineer in March’ 1994 and worked his way up to the rank of Chief Engineer in 2001. He went on to join the Anglo-Eastern office in 2004 as a Fleet Personnel Manager. His first assignment ashore was to start up the Kolkata Crewing Office and then he moved to Anglo-Eastern Mumbai as General Manager in 2011. Prior coming to Mumbai, he was involved in setting up the Indonesian and Ukraine crewing offices of Anglo-Eastern. With about 15 years of experience in crewing, Mr. Maneesh Pradhan works on the Company philosophy of placing the Right People on the Right Ship at the Right Time. With the Company handling a total of almost 21,000 seafarers now. Working with people is his passion and comes from the heart. Besides his professional occupation, Mr. Pradhan has started an NGO called ANAVI which was started in 2009 in Kolkata and now operates in 7 cities across India. The NGO is now supported by Anglo-Eastern and the workforce are the Wives of the Officers and Staff of Anglo-Eastern. ANAVI was partner to constructing a new Anaganavadi school building in Atpapadi, in Palakkad district, after the devastating Kerala floods; besides rehabilitating local people in Kerala.
