5 years ago I had to drop out of college because of an issue with both vocal cords. My degree was vocal performance so you can imagine my devastation. Despite the bad news, I remember walking away from the hospital room with this overwhelming warmth of the spirit that seemed to say... you just gotta have faith. A little over a year later I had just arrived to Sweden (where I would be serving a full time church mission) when the pandemic began. After hearing the news, despite the outer turmoil I felt, once again the familiar peace and hope of the spirit washes over me and I voiced aloud..."we just gotta have faith". a groove started in my foot. "faith in the Lord". somewhere in my head a bass started playing and I walked over to the piano and sat down to write my first song ever and the song that began it all...Gotta Have Faith. I hope this song inspires you and get stuck in your head like it does mine at the most opportune times and reminds you that TRULY these trying times will help us and we will be stronger than before… we just gotta have faith.
