This is the second half of track 2 from my new album "Lèirsinn - Perception". The piece is called "Tìr nan daoine 's Tìr nam Beathaichean" and it was inspired by a trip to the Isle of Rum, the largest of the Small Isles, situated off the west coast of Scotland and to the south of the Isle of Skye. As I left Kinloch (the small settlement where the island's 40-or-so human residents stay) and passed through the gate leading to the National Nature Reserve, my overwhelming feeling was that I had left behind Tìr nan Daoine (“The Land of People”) and entered Tìr nam Beathaichean (“The Land of Animals”). The words of the refrain are: Bho thìr nan daoine, gu tìr nam beathaichean, Sìde nan seachd sian, tìr nam beann ‘s nam fiadh. From the land of people to the land of animals, Weather of the seven elements, the land of mountains and of deer. Film by Hamish MacLeod. All music written, performed and produced by Ewen Henderson. Mixed by Ross Saunders at Gloworm studios. Mastered by Nick Cooke.
