Oh my God, I don’t even wanna type out a long description, but I’ve been working on this for four months, so I shall talk about it T_T Important stuff first – Happy Birthday Miki!! Thanks for always letting me rant about pillageshipping, I’m glad to have one other hardcore shipper to fangasm over them with! Secondly, hello new subscribers, wow… there’s a lot of you… hi :’D Ok about the vid So for anyone who doesn’t know this about me, I love fairytales. I’m a fanatic. And one of my favorites is a Japanese tale called The Snow Bride. The abridged version is that two men were walking around in a snow storm, when a spirit approaches them. She takes the life of the first, but spares the second if he promises to never tell anyone what happened that night. He agrees, and is able to move on, meet a nice girl, and get married. They have children, and years pass by. One night, while the couple is sitting next to the fire, the husband casually remarks that in this light, she reminds him of a spirit he met once long ago. The woman shrieks, furious that her husband broke his promise, reveals herself to be that spirit, and once again spares his life for the sake of the children, but vanishes forever So they both broke their promise :P Then came along this movie called Tales from the Dark Side which did a modern day rendition called “Lover’s Vow”, taking place in New York, changing the spirit to a gargoyle. That’s the version where I got both the music and the voice overs from (which I will eventually regret… I am not a fan of voice overs, but I felt like they were needed to make the plot clearer T_T) This vid is actually something I’ve been wanting to make for a long time, way back in college when I first heard the story. But with a different song and my Near/Ai crossover ship. My storytelling skills weren’t as strong as they are nao tho, so that was one of the few vids I ever actually scrapped. I’ve also always wanted to do a completely instrumental vid, because it’s a little more freeing when you don’t have to rely on lyrics :’D I was so lucky that the actual soundtrack was available tho, cuz, you would not believe how hard it was for me to find a song to match this theme. It had to be slow, but also angry, but also happy, but also dramatic, and that’s… a lot to ask for from a song lol I’ve also been really wanting to do something more with pillage since it is one of my favorite ships. So I thought, combine the two! Did not think it would take four months… I am not doing that again… The twist is more obvious here since we all know about Vector, but if the shoe fits… I also gave it my own ending because…I felt like it… Here’s a link to the movie clip for anyone wanting to check it out. Be warned… it can get gory. Like, 80s cheese gory, but if you squick easily like me, there’s your heads up: • Tales from the Darkside (8/10) Movie CLIP ... Song: • Tales from the Darkside: The Movie (1990) ... ~TRANSCRIPT FOR VOICEOVERS:~ IV: No, no, please, please don’t! Vector: Your life, in exchange for a promise IV: You got it! Vector: If I let you go, you must swear you will never say you saw me. Never say you heard me speak. Never tell anyone how I look. Never repeat what I have said. A promise, forever! IV: You gotta be kidding… I – I promise! Vector: Cross your heart? IV: I promise!! Vector: You promised you’d never tell! You broke your promise you idiot, I loved you!
