Muraqabah is a meditative practice in Sufism. Muraqabah literally translates as "to observe", "to spoor", "to contemplate", and also "to be vigilant". The meaning of the practice is focused attention to the stream of consciousness in order to distinguish true intentions that are in harmony with God from false ones provoked by lower nature ("nafs" - "ego", "bio-psyche"), thus, the practicing is constantly not only in a dimention of awareness, but also "feels" that God is mirrorily aware of him too, so Meister Eckhart's formula is involuntarily recalled here: "the eye with which you look at God is the same eye with which God looks at you." This makes muraqabah similar to some higher Buddhist practices such as Dzog-chen and Mahamudra. In addition, the proof of the mutual influence of Buddhism and Hinduism (Gupta Vidya) with some directions of Sufism is the fact that some Orders of Dervishes (such as Kalandari) were (among others) in Northern India and Pakistan. Muraqabah is a very difficult and long path, in which there are many steps (stages) of Ascenion, up to the final "dissolution" in God. I had no intention of completely and adequate expressing in music such a grandiose and "multi-layered" phenomenon as Muraqabah, my composition is just only a free musical fantasy on this.. ----------------- This collection consists of tracks that are not included in albums, and which I never haven't published anywhere in the last five years. This is not a "by-product" and I wouldn't call it unsuccessful works, it's just that in the process of creation I was attracted by the experiment primarily, the search for innovative solutions above all - and it was these tracks that I tried to include in the albums. In addition, the content of any album has a kind of "balance control", in which complicated compositions should alternate with simpler ones, "dissonant" with melodic, eclectic with "straigtforward" (more integral, monolithic), and so on.. For this reason, many tracks were "in reserve". Maybe very old works are devoid of some "epatage moment" and are not so bright and surprising as the tracks in my albums, but these are the steps of my creative path, age markers, so to speak, and I wouldn't like to wall it up them in obscurity. There is no direct chronological sequence by year here and the alternation of tracks is given according to the principle of "ballance control", which I wrote about above. Copyright © 2024.
