It’s a new year so here are my 20 favourite real estate tips for 2020. These tips are in no particular order, some are specific to first time home buyers, others to multi-time sellers. A few are great for my local market of Regina, others are tailored to larger markets in Canada. Although these are focused on the Canadian real estate market they will work for any country in the world. You can use these tips as a first time home buyer in Canada or even if you have bought and sold real estate before these tips are handy. For sellers you can use these tips to help present your house so it shows better, sellers faster and for more money. 1: Interview multiple real estate agents before you buy or sell 2: Don’t try and “time the market” buy or sell when it is right for you 3: The interest rate you get is not the be all end all 4: Set the buying mood when you have showings 5: Price to sell your home not your neighbours 6: Set your conditions when buying 7: Build your real estate team around you 8: Don’t be afraid to walk away 9:... I forgot about #9 10: No house is the forever house 11: Know all the costs 12: Don’t stress out 13: Photos are extremely important 14: Don’t be afraid to be aggressive 15: Be focused when viewing a home 16: Fix/finish the odd jobs or repairs around the house 17: Have your financing ready ahead of time 18: Have a list of wants/needs when you buy 19: Set expectations upfront 20: Be ready for the unexpected! That is my 20 real estate tips for 2020!
