COVER: Trees of Eternity - Sinking Ships (Acoustic Guitar Cover with Vocals)

This is a cover of “Sinking Ships” by Trees of Eternity. It is one of my favorite songs, by one of my favorite artists who tragically passed away from Cancer at the young age of 39 in April 2016, just as her first studio album was due for release. Although Aleah and I were only briefly acquainted, I felt a sharp pain, her passing felt as if a dear sister had left the world. Because of the similarities of our spirits, I’ve always felt we were kindred souls in music and in our deeper inner worlds. “Sinking Ships” is a masterpiece of depth and beauty, and it’s not an easy task to do it justice as a cover. My collaborator and I decided to slightly depart from the original, bringing to the song the poignant lament of the nylon string guitar which to us represents our acute emotions and the emotions of Aleah’s fans the world over.
