Maui is known as Hawaii’s honeymoon destination largely due to its unparalleled sunsets. Where’s the best place to watch the sunset on Maui? Haleakala National Park! This is the highest peak on the island of Maui standing at 10,023 feet tall, Haleakala is a dormant volcano that overlooks the entire island and offers views of the Pacific Ocean and views inside the Haleakala Crater. While sunrise is the most popular time to visit the park, reservations are required from 3:00-7:00am because space is limited. We were advised by Maui locals to visit at sunset and we managed to find a secluded spot to watch sunset ALL BY OURSELVES! It was amazing. This was hands down the best sunset we witnessed on Maui.
