Booking-contact: karlseglem ( at ) nyenor.no Ardhi Engl and Karl Seglem met for their first musical sound-explorations in Münich in February 2022. Seglem as Artist in Residence Münich. A musical meeting of two unique musicians wanting to push and cross musical borders between both countries and genres. They developed a common interaction based on one of the most important rules in music: to listen. Listen as much (or less) as one play. With their rare and unexpected instrumentarium, Seglem playing different goat horns and tsax, Engl playing his own invented new metal, plastic, string, air, wood and mechanical instrument out of other worlds, they interact and will make new musical journeys. Poetic, powerful, airy and astonishing. The duo will continue working together playing live concerts and have started recording material for a new album. The music of Indonesian-German guitarist, multi-instrumentalist and instrument inventor Ardhi Engl is wide-ranging: experimental sound research, jazz, classical, oriental and free improvised music. As a musical partner he toured the country with Gerhard Polt. He writes and performs for contemporary dance and theater. Being a wanderer between worlds he always seeks the connection between tradition and experiment. The mixture of high professionalism and child-like curiosity make his self-made instruments a unique experience. The music of Norwegian musician, composer, poet, Karl Seglem is unique. He is one of the great innovators and visionaries of Norwegian music in the field of folk-jazz-world music. Though often having the traditional folkmusic as a sound-well on his many album-releases, his music and playing on goat horns and tenorsax sounds fresh, new, powerful and contemporary alive. He has a unwavering will to fuse expressions, pursue crossover ventures and embrace new and ancient sounds. A wide range of both poetic and expressive improvisations and the beauty of a "simple" melody, has to be explored. Listen to his music on Spotify: https://spoti.fi/3jdRNWU
