Placing a metal guard rail into a gravel road can move rain water off the road and into the ditch. I went to my local gas station and purchased an old used rail for $45. It is 13.5 feet long and in great shape. I dig down around 2.5 inches into the gravel but probably should have gone a few more so that the top top of the metal is level with the road. So far after a few rains the water has made it to the ditch as I want.
