Some teams have chosen to retain their top talents, while others have taken bold steps by releasing even their key overseas players. Starting with Chennai Super Kings, they have retained only Matheesha Pathirana among their overseas players, while releasing notable names like opener Devon Conway, spinner Mitchell Santner, England’s Moeen Ali, and New Zealand’s all-rounders Rachin Ravindra and Daryl Mitchell. They also let go of Bangladesh’s Mustafizur Rahman, Sri Lankan spinner Maheesh Theekshana, and England’s fast bowler Richard Gleeson. Delhi Capitals have retained only one overseas player, Tristan Stubbs, while releasing big names such as Australia’s David Warner and Jake Fraser-McGurk, West Indies' Shai Hope, England's Harry Brook, all-rounder Mitchell Marsh, Afghanistan’s Gulbadin Naib, South Africa’s Anrich Nortje, Australia's Jhye Richardson, and South Africa’s Lizaad Williams.
