Royal Albatross ~ Tiaki Defends Her Territory From Plateau Chick! Clack Clack Clack! 😊 😊 🐦 8.11.21

There has been a lot of activity and excitement for Tiaki these past couple of days! She has mainly been having squabbles with SSTrig but here she meets Plateau chick from just below the hill. She gets up and comes over and clacks at the visiting chick and that seems to work....for a while. Plateau chick walks away but then will come back and clack at Tiaki and lunge at her - the first time missing and she stumbles right in front of Tiaki lol :) Plateau chick gets up and keeps lunging and Tiaki retreats. Finally Tiaki just lies down and her neighbor will walk back down the high! Hi and bye!! These neighbors are not what our Princess expected!! Thank you for watching! They have been together since 2017 and became our Royalcam couple for the 2018/2019 season. Their first breeding season produced an egg but it later died. In 2019 their chick Karere fledged successfully. LGL laid her egg on Nov. 7th 2020. LGL/ LGK are the Royalcam couple for the 2020/21 season! The chick hatched on January 24th 2021.
