This time a little bit of an exercise in creating a creature from some random textures. I've only just got a mic, so bear with me if the audio isn't great! Let me know how it sounds. Finding inspiration can always be a challenge, so this technique allows you to 'prime' you mind with possible shapes to take to full render. This particular design was the result of apply a working process that can be followed when inspiration eludes us. The goal was not to follow a typical design brief where the traits and environment have already been specified. Rather, it was a chance to let your imagination come up with a design from the randomness that this approach offers. That being said, as I developed the design, I constantly asked myself questions like, where does he live? what does he eat? how does he use those two tentacles? etc. I named him the 'Blue-Coy-Dog', this shy creature lives in the forest, where he uses those tentacles to search through the leaf litter whilst keeping an eye out for predators. Being a somewhat timid creature, he typically comes out at night and uses his large eyes to detect movement. His powerful sense of smell and strong claws are used to dig roots and seeds in the forest. His blue colour comes from a special root called 'Mange-Foot', rich in vitamins and a deep azure dye. The rest of the story I leave up to you ;-) Rate, Comment and Subscribe if you liked the video. For more art/videos/tutorials visit: www.IDrawCreatures.com
