FLAT ROOF SURVEYING The first survey of the year was a bit of a challenge with the amount of standing water on the roof which was around 30mm deep, contrary to the 150mm I estimated in the video (not like me to over exaggerate 😂). This deck has obviously deflected which will only worsen if left untreated so we need to get some of this water off the roof. There are a couple of options here; we design a bespoke tapered insulation layout, however, this could a non-starter due to the length of the fall and the subsequent thickness of insulation required, however, we could use a shallow fall and/or step the insulation. Alternatively, the backfalls could be levelled using a polymer modified screed before waterproofing. Or a hybrid of both solutions might be an option. All of these options will be proposed to the client along with the pro's and con's and budget options.
