For this holiday I decided to spoil myself and get the meal plan plus as part of my holiday package. My sensible and logical way of thinking I worked it out that it wouldn't be worth it, in terms of monetary value as each meal cost the same as I would usually spend on a weeks worth of shopping normally. However, because of understanding how my mind works and knowing i'd be in the mindset of feeling guilty of spending that much money on one meal, I decided for my peace of mind I would purchase the meal plan plus and pay for my 3 meals a day in advance, again I often only eat one meal a day or have small snacks of cheese toasties etc. I did actually feel guilty about spending money on DLP prices and didn't buy any snacks at DLP for the whole week as I couldn't justify those prices, even though I knew what they'd be before hand and tried to convince myself it was ok to buy stuff. So whilst the meals are nice, I still don't think they are value for money even if you include the ambience and eating environment. Whilst it was nice to experience it during this holiday, I wouldn't go back again based on what I personal value. Halfway through the week I did convince myself to get a train and go to Val D'Europe and Auchan. I really wish I managed to do it at the start of the week as the prices put Ireland supermarkets to shame (depending on your taste). If I go back to DLP I'll definitely look for somewhere that has a kitchenette/ its own facilities to cook in.
