It became the soundtrack of director and screenwriter Marie Surae’s debut feature. Lebanese singer Luciana Zogbi performed the song in French, Arabic and, of course, Gipsy. Lebanese poet Frida wrote the lyrics. The director came up with the idea to create a music video as soon as she heard ‘Kai o Bergi’. The director says, “This song talks about my roots. My great-great-grandmother was a Gypsy, and I really love Gypsy culture and music. When I heard Luciana’s voice, for a couple of days I couldn’t recover from it. This a unique voice, a real gift. And I’m happy that we were able to make that happen, to translate it into several languages and record this beautiful song together”. ‘The Anger’ was shot in Lebanon and finished in 2021.
