Crossing the Crosswalk from Rakutenchi: The Bustle of the JR Lines With the Rakutenchi Building behind us, we cross the crosswalk. To our right, the Skytree towers, as if always watching over us. Ahead, we can see the signs for the station buildings "Termina" and "Yodobashi Camera." If we look up at the JR platform, we'll see a row of the latest platform screen doors. The station is advancing in safety and modernization. However, once you step outside the station grounds, the good old(?) and slightly harsh reality of Kinshicho awaits. 3. The Amazing Tough Outdoor Escalator One of the highlights of this walk is the outdoor escalator, a rare sight nationwide. Normally, escalators are precision machines that resist the elements, but the one in Kinshicho is something else entirely. Rainy, windy, and even on days when hordes of enthusiastic horse racing fans flock to WINS (off-track betting facilities), it continues to move without a single complaint. Truly "tough."
