Welcome to my channel! This is Andy from I love languages. Let's learn different languages/dialects together. Turkish (Türkçe) is the most widely spoken language of the Turkic family, primarily spoken in Turkey and Cyprus, with significant communities in the Balkans, Western Europe, and the Caucasus. It belongs to the Oghuz branch of the Turkic language family and has around 80 million native speakers. Turkish evolved from Ottoman Turkish, which in turn was influenced by Arabic and Persian, but underwent major linguistic reforms in the 20th century to simplify vocabulary and grammar. It uses a Latin-based alphabet, introduced in 1928, and is known for its vowel harmony and agglutinative structure, where suffixes modify meaning and grammatical function. Turkish is the official language of Turkey and one of the official languages of Cyprus, playing a key role in regional politics, trade, and culture. Tuvan (Тыва дыл, Tyva dyl) is a Turkic language spoken primarily by the Tuvan people in the Tuva Republic (Tyva), a region in southern Siberia, Russia, near the border with Mongolia. It belongs to the Sayan branch of the Siberian Turkic languages and has around 280,000 native speakers. Tuvan is an agglutinative language, characterized by vowel harmony, extensive use of suffixes, and a complex system of consonant sounds. It has been influenced by Mongolic and Russian due to historical and geographical proximity. Tuvan is written in the Cyrillic script, though it was previously written in Latin and Mongolic scripts. The language is deeply tied to Tuvan culture, particularly through traditional throat singing (khoomei), shamanistic practices, and nomadic heritage, and it holds co-official status alongside Russian in the Tuva Republic. This video is created for educational, language awareness, and language preservation purposes. It aims to provide valuable insights and knowledge to viewers, enhancing their understanding and appreciation of different languages and their unique characteristics. By raising awareness about linguistic diversity, the video seeks to foster a greater respect and recognition for various languages, particularly those that are endangered or underrepresented. Additionally, it contributes to the preservation of languages by documenting and sharing linguistic knowledge, thus ensuring that these languages and their cultural heritage are not lost to future generations.
