Kalanilayam is one of the biggest permanent theatre group in Asia. We started playing drama since 1963 which was founded by Late Kalanilayam Krishnan Nair. Later his son Shri. Ananda Padmanabhan and the famous malayalam movie actor Shri. Jagathi Sreekumar restarted the theatre on 2003. Our renowned works are "Raktharakshas", "Kadamattathu Kathanar", "Shri Guruvayurappan" etc. There are more than 100 people working both on stage and off stage. We have finished staging more than 100000 shows throughout the country. Kalanilayam Stage Crafts is our new venture beginning with our latest show "Hidimbi". The show resembles with the popular theatre, Broadway Theatres in London. The show features a high volume of technology and latest sound effects. We wanted to showcase a real like experience to the viewers just like watching a cinema.This is probably the one of a kind visual stage craft to be ever made in India. The show vouches for the talent of the young generation, raises voice against de-forestation, war and molestation of women. Also the play stands for women's empowerment.
