This happens to be the very first song that I ever learned! The song has just three chords that follow two different chord progressions, the verse progression plays the D chord for 3 of the 4 measures, so that can be tricky to know when to change. One of the most important aspects of this song is the big down strum on the second beat, the ba BA sound. It was that sound that I was able to learn how to play the song because the second beat was so distinctly marked by the beat you couldn't miss it. It made playing along with the record very easy too, so if you are struggling to play anything except the calypso strum or have no idea what the concept of groove is, give this song a strum and see if the rhythm will help you with those two concepts.
