Welcome to AAO GHUME PHIRE! We went on a 10 day trip to Russia from Delhi , India.(13th to 22nd May 2025.) Visited two cities - Moscow and Saint Petersburg. Moscow, Russia's capital, is a bustling city of about 19 million people, rich in history and modern luxuries. Despite its cold winters, Moscow offers a vibrant lifestyle with numerous festivals, cultural landmarks like the Kremlin and Red Square, and a thriving social scene. The city is known for its impressive architecture, extensive metro system, and luxury cars. The cost of living is quite high in Russia.Currency is Rubles. Best time to visit is from April to June. 1. We booked Aeroflot flight tickets 80 days in advance through a travel agent based in Chandigarh. 2. Russian single entry tourist EVisa was applied online for Rs 4400/- and it takes 5-7 working days to process. The validity of this visa is 16 days. 3. Hotel bookings were done through the ZEN HOTELS app . Booking.com is not working currently due to sanctions. 4. We carried USD and Euro in cash. Debit and credit cards are not working in Russia right now. 5. Getting a tourist SIM is a long tedious procedure involving biometrics and verification done by the bank. Some are selling in the grey market but the SIM can stop working anytime. It's better to get an international roaming pack having enough GB. 6. We were asked to show Visa, hotel bookings in both the cities, cash and return/ forward flight ticket at Delhi airport. 7. Russian immigration was smooth. They give a "Registration Slip" which is to be returned while exiting the country. 8. Facebook, Instagram and few other apps are also not working presently. 9.
