This is the third and final video of the construction of the Macchi M.C. 72 from Canon Creative Park. This excellent 1:25 scale model along with many others can be downloaded from the Canon site here... https://creativepark.canon/en/index.html In the 1910's 20's and early 30's The race for the Schneider Trophy saw an explosion in engine and aircraft design to push the limits of technology and which would ultimately greatly benefit fighter design for the looming second world war. The Trophy was eventually won for Britain by the Supermarine S6b in 1931 but aircraft design continued and although the Italian Macchi M.C. 72 failed to take the Trophy because of engine problems, after they were sorted out, the aircraft broke the world speed record in 1933 and 1934. It still holds the world record for a piston powered float plane at 430 mph. In this video I make the floats, pylons and the final details to complete the model.
