Spiritual Awakening often times "agitates" addiction... And you know what... This is a very good thing! Only when our addictions or bad habits become unbearable, ugly, painful, do we make PERMANENT change. It reminds me of a story Tony Robbins told a while back. He was known for helping people quit smoking. His methods were unusual to say the least! He would encourage people to smoke their brains out, multiple cigarettes at a time, pack after pack until the person was utterly disgusted with smoking. Quitting then became a no brainer. Our spiritual awakening has the tendency to aggravate and accelerate our addictions in much the same way. This can however, initially be very discouraging as we think we are "falling back."
