Far-red isn’t part of traditional PAR (400–700 nm), so it’s not directly tied to photosynthesis. But it can make leaves more responsive to light, increasing light interception and whole-plant growth. Karla walks through a study that tested 12 combinations of far-red, red and green light — with blue light held constant — to see how these changes impact growth in hydroponic lettuce.
