Every year from the 15th to the 22nd of the ninth lunar month, merchants, tourists, circuses, and dance troupes from all directions gather here, transforming this small village into a bustling market, resembling a rural "World Expo." The Medicine Temple Fair is a traditional temple fair held annually from the 15th to the 22nd of the ninth lunar month in Litang Village, Xinmi City, Henan Province, to commemorate Sun Simiao, a Tang Dynasty physician. Originating from the local history of building a Medicine King Temple for Sun Simiao, the fair lasts for eight days, encompassing theatrical performances, trade exchanges, and more, with a particular focus on the trade of medicinal herbs. This temple fair is well-known locally, and even businessmen from other counties and provinces come to participate. While other ancient fairs last only one day, the Medicine Temple Fair lasts eight days. This temple fair can be traced back to the late Sui and early Tang dynasties.
