#DoomniTeaEstate #AdivasiCommunities #AssamTeaGardens #IndiaDocumentary #SocialImpactStories A mirror to the perpetual poverty facing the Adivasis working in the Assam Tea Garden or as they call it - ‘Chah Bagaan’ this is a Documentary that gives you a reality check. The Doomni Tea Estate is often celebrated as a symbol of Assam’s rich tea legacy. But behind this pride lies a community whose real identity is rarely spoken about. The people working in Doomni are commonly called tea estate workers. Very few know them by who they truly are. They do not see themselves as a tea tribe of Assam. Also known as ‘Adivasis’; whose roots trace back to Jharkhand, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and West Bengal. Generations ago, they were brought here as labourers. Today, they continue to live and work in the tea gardens, carrying forward cultures, languages, and identities that have survived displacement. They speak Santhali, Ho, Kurukh, Bengali, and Assamese influenced dialects. They belong to different ethnic groups, yet share one strong sense of identity. They take pride in being called Adivasis. For them, this is not a label. It is history, culture, and belonging. This film looks beyond the tea leaves and colonial nostalgia to understand the lives, struggles, and resilience of the Adivasi communities of Doomni Tea Estate.
