Backlit shots are one of the hardest situations to grade. You're either blowing out the window or losing the subject. There's not always a "perfect exposure" if you're on set without lights. No lights, no bounce, just a window blowing out behind the subject and a messy table we didn't have time to clear. We shot it anyway. In this video, I walk through the full C.R.A.F.T. workflow applied to a real backlit interior — from color space transform to print stack, skin tone correction, saturation, grain, halation, and split toning.
