Grant starred in Curtis' romantic comedies Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994), Notting Hill (1999), Bridget Jones's Diary (2001) and Love Actually (2003) Comedic storyteller RICHARD CURTIS received this award for his decades of charitable work and fundraising efforts that have supported over 170n million people around the world The Board of Governors of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences held the 15th Governors Awards at the Ray Dolby Ballroom in Hollywood last night (11/17). Honorary Awards were presented to music producer and composer Quincy Jones (accepted posthumously by Rashida Jones, Martina Jones, Quincy Jones III, and Kenya Kinski Jones) by Jamie Foxx and casting director Juliet Taylor by Nicole Kidman. The Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award was presented to filmmaker Richard Curtis by Hugh Grant. The Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award was presented to producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli by Daniel Craig. The awards, which are all Oscar® statuettes, were voted on by the Academy’s Board of Governors this past June.
