For a pathologist assistant, what to say when you describe pathology specimens can feel overwhelming when you first start grossing. This video covers the main features you need to describe in a lab specimen, which are the specimen identifiers and the pathology. This intro guide is a good place for a pathologist assistant to look when they're first starting out but it's not the only resource available. I also use the Gross Pathology Manual for terms and pictures of various pathologies, Lester's and Westra's grossing handbooks for things to focus on and relevant areas to describe as well as the CAP protocols (https://www.cap.org/protocols-and-gui...) to guide my grossing. Your site specific SOPs are also another good resource. ❤️ If you find my content helpful, become a channel member - / @canadianpathassistant9066 WHO AM I: I'm a full time Pathologists' Assistant working in western Canada.
