The Hips are one of the major body parts used when it comes to playing hockey and a lot of hockey players develop tight hip flexors over time. The Hips are key when it comes to a powerful skating stride. The next time you watch Sidney Crosby play, watch how he uses his hips when he skates, he is one of the best at utilizing his hips. Hockey players spend most of there time with their torso upright and their hips flexed. Stretching out and opening your hips can be very beneficial for increased movement and flexibility and can also reduce risk of injury and tight hip flexors.
