Humpback Rock Hike, VA | Appalachian Trail Hike

#HumpbackRock Great hike for beginners. It's one of the heavily trafficked hike, so expect lot of fellow hikers. You can either park in Humpback Gap Overlook (around 30 cars) or in Humpback Rock visitor center and Picnic area which is just 0.2 miles and walk from there. Rangers at visitor center were helpful and provided maps and tips. From the Humpback Gap Overlook parking area, you can take the 1 mile steep hike (right end of the parking) or 3.5 mile relatively flat AT path (left side of the parking). Our plan was to take the steep one and come back via AT and people commonly refer this route as hiking in counter clock wise direction. There was a heavy fog cover when we went there, so we could not see anything from the top, but the hike was absolutely beautiful in thick fog. We saw bunch of kids hiking, so you can do it as well.
