Two days ago, it has been two years since the untimely passing of one of my favorite artists and role models. Ezio Bosso has not only been an incredibly talented pianist, composer, and conductor, but an inspiring human being with uncanny sensitivity, courage, and resilience to withstand the challenges life threw along his path. If nothing is lost, nothing is created, and everything is transformed, I’m pretty sure Ezio became music itself. In order to compose this album - Music for Weather Elements - he studied meteorology to learn Nature’s rhythm and gift her his music. This song - Rain, in your black eyes - is composed in 5/4, which is the same time signature rain falls with. He could understand the world around him and transform it into music in a unique and magical way. Whenever I play this piece - though far from being technically up to it and lacking a much-needed violin and double bass - I feel Ezio’s vulnerability permeating all the space around and within myself. With the hope of sharing this feeling and his legacy, here’s my arrangement and tribute to one of his most well-known and most beautiful songs. To Ezio ♥️🎶
