*Episode 316 - Wednesday (17 December 2025): The Apostles’ Doctrine | Who Is This Melchisedec? In today's episode we hope to place under the microscope of scriptural dialogue, the somewhat enigmatic figure of Melchisedec. Who exactly is this mysterious Melchisedec? Is he a mere mortal or a theophany of GOD? And, what are the lessons to be learnt from the passages of Scripture that mention Melchisedec? We first encounter Melchizedek in Genesis chapter 14 from verse 17 to 24. Listen at the Bible: And the king of Sodom went out to meet him after his return from the slaughter of Chedorlaomer, and of the kings that were with him, at the valley of Shaveh, which is the king's dale. And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God. And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth: And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all. And the king of Sodom said unto Abram, Give me the persons, and take the goods to thyself. And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto the LORD, the most high God, the possessor of heaven and earth, That I will not take from a thread even to a shoelatchet, and that I will not take any thing that is thine, lest thou shouldest say, I have made Abram rich: Save only that which the young men have eaten, and the portion of the men which went with me, Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre; let them take their portion. Then the priestly order of Melchizedek is again mentioned in the Psalms, chapter 110 and verse 4: The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek. Over in the New Testament, Melchisedec is mentioned several times in the Book of Hebrews across chapters 5, 6 and 7, which we hope to examine in detail. But, is enough contained in the Holy Scriptures for us to conclude who this enigmatic figure, Melchisedec, is? By GOD's permission, we hope to search the Scriptures, rightly divide them and arrive at scripturally-sound conclusions to the whole matter of who really is Melchisedec? 🎙️ New to streaming or looking to level up?
