How Effective are Wax & Grease Removers on Fresh Wax? Let's Test!

In this video, I'm covering four different wax and grease removers to see how effective they are at attempting to remove a fresh carnauba wax from the paint. The paint was prepped using 3D One, Meguiar's D302, followed up with Klean Strip Prep-All. Overall, Dupli-Color's performance is negligible on the fresh Ital. Rustoleum is more effective at knocking down the wax, however the wipeability is terrible, feels like a significant residue is left behind. Prep-All's effectiveness is more tied to its ability to penetrate the surface prior to flashing off. At higher surface temps, it can flash off too quickly before it can lift the wax off and be removed with the towel. However, it can still be effective at knocking down a wide variety of products even if it flashes quickly, and its wipeability is perfect. This is my recommended panel wipe for its performance and price. It also doubles as a perfect post polish panel wipe for removing polishing oils left behind by the abrasive compounds and polishes, giving us the best value of the bunch. Poorboy's World Strip Down is an effective product in the short term. However it's priced a bit out of my budget for how quickly I go through the bottle. Also, this requires the wash process to utilize it effectively, and it's questionable on how cleanly it can be rinsed off the surface. I would still want to follow up with a panel wipe after using it on the paint. Disclaimers: Use PPE when working with these products! Protect your eyes, hands, and lungs. Also, always test products out on a small section of the paint, preferably an inconspicuous area, in order to make sure a negative reaction isn't observed by that specific panel wipe or wax remover.
