Storm Borrasca Claudia MUD AND FALLEN ROCKS IN MOGAN Los Azulejos After the Rain the Colours and Waterfalls After the heavy rainfall from Storm Borrasca Claudia, the natural wonder of Los Azulejos de Veneguera, in the municipality of Mogán, transformed into one of the most breathtaking sights in Gran Canaria. 🌈 The cliffs, rich in volcanic minerals, became more colourful than ever — glowing with deep greens, turquoise blues, and earthy reds. Water trickled down the mountainsides, forming temporary waterfalls that glistened in the soft daylight. The air was fresh, the smell of wet rock and plants filled the valleys, and the landscape seemed reborn. It was a cloudy day, yet the sun appeared through the gaps — creating moments of magical light that made the colours of Los Azulejos shine even brighter. Between the shadows of the clouds and the golden sun rays, the contrast was simply stunning — a true reminder of Gran Canaria’s ever-changing beauty. Filmed by ExploGC Explore Gran Canaria, this video captures the peaceful yet powerful mood of the island after the storm. The combination of clouds, sunshine, and rain-soaked colours shows a side of Mogán that few people get to witness. 🚗 Travel Note: The GC-200 road between Mogán and La Aldea can still have loose rocks and mud after rainfall. Drive carefully, especially around Los Azulejos, and always stop only in safe areas. Gran Canaria never looks the same twice — and after the rain, its colours tell a completely different story. 🌦️ 💨 The Forecast – What’s Next for Gran Canaria According to AEMET, the Spanish Meteorological Agency, Storm Claudia will continue to influence the Canary Islands through Friday, gradually weakening by the weekend. Thursday (Nov 13): Cloudy with periods of heavy rain, especially in the south and southwest. Winds from the southwest, strong in exposed areas and near the summits (up to 80 km/h). Rough sea conditions along the south and west coasts — waves over 3 m expected. Local flooding possible in barrancos (ravines) and low-lying roads. Friday (Nov 14): Rain showers easing, but some areas may still see moderate rainfall in the morning. Winds decreasing through the afternoon. Temperatures around 24–25 °C, slightly cooler in the interior. Saturday–Sunday (Nov 15–16): Gradual clearing. Sunshine returning to most of the island. Occasional clouds over the mountains, but mostly dry conditions. The air remains fresh and clean after the storm — perfect for hiking and filming post-rain landscapes. Meteorologists have hinted that a second weak front may approach next week, but it’s not expected to bring severe conditions — just scattered showers and mild winds. ⚠️ Safety and Island Advice Authorities are still urging caution, especially in the barrancos of Mogán, San Bartolomé de Tirajana, and La Aldea, where the ground remains soaked and unstable. Avoid walking or driving through flooded roads. Stay clear of coastal walls and cliffs during high waves. Keep an eye on AEMET updates and Cabildo de Gran Canaria advisories. #LosAzulejos #Veneguera #Mogán #GranCanaria #BorrascaClaudia #ExploGC #GranCanariaNature #CanaryIslands #AfterTheRain #ExploreGranCanaria #BorrascaClaudia #StormClaudia #CanaryIslandsStorm #GranCanariaStorm #HeavyRain #Thunderstorm #ExtremeWeather #RainyNight #AtlanticStorm #StormChasing #WeatherAlert #CanariasWeather #AEMET #WindAndRain #StormFootage #WeatherDocumentary #GranCanaria #PlayaDelIngles #Maspalomas #Meloneras #Canarias #SpainWeather #ExploreGranCanaria #VisitGranCanaria #CanaryIslands #DiscoverCanarias #ExploreSpain #CanaryVibes #CanaryLife #IslasCanarias #HolidayInGranCanaria #ExploGC #ExploreWithExploGC #GranCanariaByExploGC #StormPhotography #WeatherFilmmaking
