🌱 Today I'm showing you how to build a simple and cheap DIY shade house that will keep your plants from frying in the summer sun. 🌞 This easy project repurposes a frame from a canopy or RV cover and adds five reusable items, all purchased and delivered directly from Amazon. I've included specifics in the description below. Materials You'll Need: Frame from a popup or canopy (we repurposed a frame from an old RV cover) 10 x 20 50% Shade Cloth [VICLLAX 50% Shade Cloth 10x20FT Black, $21] Spool of Tarred Bank Line [SG Knots Tarred Twine, $8] Heavy Duty Tarp Lock Clips (Pack) [King A Ma Jigs, $10] Screw-in Earth Stakes [Cobaryen Earth Stakes, $9] Step-by-Step Instructions: Set Up the Frame: After setting up your frame and rolling out your shade cloth, place a locking clip on each corner and 2-3 spaced evenly on the long sides, plus two on each of the shorter ends. Initial Tie-Off: Using the locking clips and tarred bank line, loosely tie off a corner on each of the long ends and middle clips of one long side. Roll Out the Shade Cloth: Slowly roll the shade cloth up over the top of the frame. Use poles to work the shade cloth over the frame. Secure Remaining Corners: Loosely tie off the remaining two corners and the second long side. Adjust the shade cloth as needed. Final Adjustments: Adjust the shade cloth evenly on all sides and tie the short ends. Tighten All Lines: Ensure all lines are tightened securely. Secure the Poles: Use bank line through each corner locking clip and through an earth stake to secure the poles.
