The Horin-ji Temple affectionately known as “Saga no Kokuzo-san,” is located in Arashiyama, about 40 minutes from Kyoto Station by train. Founded in the 8th century, it is an ancient temple of the Shingon sect and is well known for the Jusan-mairi pilgrimage. Arashiyama itself is famous as one of Kyoto’s cherry blossom destinations, yet Horin-ji remains something of a hidden spot among them. (Filmed: April 3, 2025) Filming Note: Visitors were allowed to enter the grounds of Horin-ji shortly after 7:00 a.m. However, the scenic viewpoint—well known for its panoramic view of Arashiyama, including Togetsukyo Bridge—opens around 8:00 or 9:00 a.m. If you visit too early in the morning, it may not yet be accessible. I hope this note helps when planning your visit. -------------------------- 《Quick Glance Kyoto Channel》 / @quickglancekyoto ==About of this channel== Thank you for watching the video.
