Video showing hounds being effectively stopped on deer. Also hounds being taken to a holloa , a voice call to communicate to both huntsman and hounds that a fox (or whoever the target species is)has been sighted. The full report from the day. Ledbury Hunt, Friday 13th December 2024. Green Farm, Queenshill. Only one of us out today and lots of badger setts checked pre meet, none were found to be blocked whereas 2 years ago all would have been blocked. Sadly later in the day on one badger hater's land 2 setts were found to be freshly blocked and other entrances destroyed. We can't expose where this is but one sett was destroyed after being dug out a few years ago, another had a dead fox in it last year, all have been routinely blocked over many years. This has been reported to West Mercia Police and the Badger Trust. The first draw was an unnamed covert just south of Green Farm was blank. then it was to Long covert where they did hunt a fox and the pack split. After a short gathering period they went to Paradise Plantation, appeared to hunt but then popped out again putting hounds through Island Covert. 2 deer ran from there and it was easy to hear from the high pitch of the hounds speaking (they have a different tone depending on the species they are hunting) that they were on their line. The response of the hunt was, to be fair, really text book and they stopped the hounds from pursuing the deer and took them away from the area. Will put up the footage in the next few days as it shows what should happen if hounds begin to hunt any other animal. Next it was the Stanks and they hunted a fox along Long Covert in that piece of land and came back as someone hollaed from the west. Hounds were taken straight to that holloa. It is not known what the outcome was but it remains pretty obvious that this was nothing other than blatant fox hunting. They were not found after leaving the Stanks. Setts were checked until it started to get dark.
