If you haven't seen my previous video about the modifications I make to my locking Pelican latches, that one is here...    • How Can You Force the TSA to Re-Lock Your ...   -- ----- ---------- This was a new one for me... I've seen the TSA make small complaints in the past about gun cases: I've seen them tell people that a case didn't close "tightly" enough (the famous "finger test") and I've witnessed all kinds of misinterpretations of FAA policies concerning things like ammunition, other articles in a piece of luggage next to a gun, and more. But this was the first time that the TSA ever tried to claim that my gun case was not actually locked. As many of you know, and as you'll see in this video, it's not actually POSSIBLE for my Pelican cases to NOT be locked. That's not how the latches work. You be the judge when watching my footage here. I did learn something interesting when filming this footage, as you'll see... it IS possible for a TSA screener to fiddle with their master key in a way that could allow THEM to extract a key in the "unlocked" position, but that isn't possible for me to do with my user key. So that's interesting, too. Either way, I hope this helps any of you out there who fly with firearms, if you use latches like this on your Pelican case.
