I can relate to John Blake a lot... Moses Told the Pharaoh to Repent By Joseph Lee The church deserves the rebuke from God. The church needs to stop showing favoritism to the rich while they alienate the poor. There is a famous pastor in Southern California who has prayed, acknowledged, and praised a famous politician. This famous politician made lewd incestuous jokes on his daughter, and he had a couple of divorces. I want to say to this pastor, “Why you have not rebuked this famous politician in private at least?” The pastor has kissed the politician’s a**. I am sorry to be blunt and honest, but I can’t say any euphemism to describe what the pastor has done wrong by holding back his rebuke. I have a lot of respect for this pastor as a brother in Christ the same way Apostle Paul had his respect for Apostle Peter, However, when Peter blundered by alienating the Gentile believers, Paul confronted and rebuked Peter. The pastor has had COVID-19, and I know what I have to say seems cruel and unkind, but I believe God is rebuking this pastor for falling short in terms of sin. It is possible that I can get COVID-19 myself, and I hope nobody will tell me that I was being punished by God. I am just saying it is just so obvious why God is rebuking this pastor. If Job is alive, I believe he would have gotten COVID-19 for doing nothing wrong, but I can’t say the same thing for this minister who stood up for a man who made some incredibly lewd jokes on his daughter on TV. I know that more than one pastor supported this politician. I think we all know why God is going to rebuke all of our pastors for the next 4 years or even worse the next 8 or 12 years. If this lewd politician is a homeless beggar, I wonder how other pastors will treat this homeless beggar who is as lewd as the politician. Would other pastors ask him to be an elder in their church? I don’t know. For me, I don’t support abortion, and I don’t support gay marriages. We should not vote any politician who is opposed to our core beliefs as Christians. However, we should not refrain church discipline on the rich while we exercise freely disciplining the poor. We have to treat the poor and rich without favoritism or bias. I have seen too many churches in Orange County where we do kick the homeless out and make the rich as elders who are not saved. Right now, the politician lost his re-election campaign. We just elected a new politician no different from “Bane” in the Batman movie. I want to ask all of my pastors. Do you have the heart of repentance? Or you have Pharaoh’s hardened heart of refusal to repent? I am asking my pastors not to make the same mistakes like Pharaoh by refusing to repent. It is not too late. They can start by apologizing to the poor.
