Hey Guys! Welcome back to my channel. Today’s video is another addition to my DinnerTime Series. Deep South Soul Food Sunday PorkPot. I heard of a Pork Pot years ago but I could never find a recipe for it. I searched high and low and even looked through some of my old cookbooks with no luck. Recently I searched YouTube and lo and behold there were multiple videos for Pork Pots. Those mostly contained pig ears and pig tails both of which I didn’t eat only because I didn’t grow up eating them not that I think they are disgusting. So I decided that I’d make my own using the pork parts that I like most. My recipe includes pig feet, smoked neck bones, smoked ham hocks and fatback. I would include plain neck bones too but the ones I had in this video didn’t smell fresh so u didn’t use them. I loved my version and for the first time in about 25 years I was able to eat a whole pig foot. They were finger licking good. Pork Pot: 1 Pack Pigs Feet 7 or 8, washed and cleaned 1 Pack Smoked Neck Bones, washed 1 Pack Regular Neck Bones, washed 1 Pack Smoked Ham Hocks, buy the kind that are precut with lots of meat, washed 8 Strips Salted Fatback 1 Gallon Water or Chicken Broth 2 Envelopes Lipton Onion Soup Mix 1 Large Onion, sliced 2 to 3 Tablespoons Garlic Paste 2 Teaspoons Granulated Garlic 2 Teaspoons Granulated Onion 2 Tablespoons Slap Ta Mama Seasoning 1/2 Teaspoon Black Pepper 2 Large Bay Leaves 1/2 Cup White Vinegar First wash and thoroughly clean the pigs feet. Using a large stockpot cook the pigs feet in the vinegar and 1/2 gallon of water for 30 minutes. Start timer after they start boiling. Once they have boiled 30 minutes pour that water off and rinse. Place back in the pot and add all of the remaining ingredients for the pork pot. Add chicken broth to the level about two inches above the meat, not all at the same time. Add more if this liquid as needed during the cooking process. Cook approximately two hours checking the tenderness of the meats for doneness.
