🔧 In this Samsung A16 5G repair video, we solve a classic "dead phone" symptom. The device was not powering on and showed an auto current consumption of 250mA when voltage was injected. The culprit? A shorted capacitor on the critical PMID line of the charging IC. 📈 Symptom & Initial Diagnosis: · Device: Samsung Galaxy A16 5G · Symptom: Completely dead, no signs of life. · Initial Test: Injected 4.2V on the battery connector. · Finding: Auto current consumption of ~250mA, indicating a partial short or leakage on a main power line. 🔍 Repair Process Step-by-Step: 1. IC in Focus: The Charging IC (UCCVA model) was the primary suspect for power management issues. 2. Pin Check: All 24 pins of the UCCVA IC were checked for shorts to ground. 3. Fault Found: Pin 23 (PMID - Power Middle Voltage) was found SHORTED to Ground. 4. Isolating the Fault: The PMID line is connected to a 10µF decoupling capacitor. Rosin flux was applied to the capacitor and charging IC area. 5. Smoke Test: 4.2V was carefully injected directly onto the PMID capacitor. The flux under the capacitor melted instantly, confirming it as the shorted component. 6. Solution: The shorted 10µF capacitor was removed and replaced with a new one. ✅ Result: After replacement, the short on the PMID line was cleared. The phone booted up normally, and charging functionality was fully restored. Problem Solved! ⚠️ Important Disclaimer: This video is for educational and informational purposes only.
