Frozen Time

Caught a break in our winter weather, so the drone and I took a little trip up Basin Road and Thane Road here in Juneau, Alaska. Snow had blanketed the trees and their branches with fresh powder so I flew the drone at and above the snowline. A few times, I got REALLY close to either tree branches or to the limbs of blueberry bushes, which at this time of year are leafless. Because the cloud cover, the ground, and the sky were so white with snow, I had to do some work in 'post' to bring down the brightness and up the saturation, which helped pop the muted colors. When it's winter like this and overcast, most of the mountains appear nearly black and white and shade of gray, so filming is difficult, but not impossible. Enjoy the flight!
